Robert Derry -
President Robert
is an avid outdoorsman and
has always ridden horses.
He started shooting in 2005
and joined Peach State in
2007. In 2010, Robert was
elected to the Peach State
Board of Directors and
served as president in
2011. He is 2010 & 2011
Peach State Top 5 Cowboy and
2010 Men’s Level 4 High
Point Champion. He has also
been a Certified Range
Master for the last four
years. Robert is a native
of Tennessee. However, Mr.
President and his First Lady
(GJ Daniel) call Elberton
Georgia home! |

Dennis
Bougher - Vice President, Head Range Master,
Wrangler Range Master
Dennis started riding horses about
11 years ago. He took on Cowboy Mounted
Shooting in 2005 and joined Peach State in
2006. Dennis is also serving as South
Carolina CMSA President. This is his third
year serving on the Peach State BOD. Dennis
is a Certified Range Master and was the 2011
Peach State Head Range Master. He is the
2009 recipient of the TOP HAND award.
Dennis is a Clemson Tiger fan and calls
Pelzer South Carolina home! |

Christine
Bougher - Treasurer Christine grew up riding
trail horses and started Cowboy Mounted Shooting in 2005
and joined Peach State in 2006. This is Christine’s
first year on Peach State Mounted Shooting BOD. She has
served on the South Carolina BOD for multiple years.
Christine is a Lady Lever 4 and a Certified Range
Master. She is a Clemson Tiger Alumni and calls Plezer
South Carolina home! |
Felecia
Basolo - Secretary Felecia
started riding horses when she could catch
one! She grew up exercising three day event
and dressage horses. In 2006, Felecia
learned how to tack up a western saddle and
shot her first pistol. That year she
started Cowboy Mounted Shooting and joined
Peach State. Felecia was nominated to the
Peach State board in 2008. She was
“elected” to be secretary for the 2011
season. Felecia is responsible for website
updates and is Certified Range Master. She
has is high point champion in 2011, placed
in the Top 5 Cowgirls multiple times, and is
a Lady Level 5 shooter. Felecia is a
native of Illinois, and currently resides in
Oakwood Georgia. |
Betty
Walters – Registration Master and Buckle Boss Betty
has enjoyed trail riding for the last 15 years. Betty
and her husband, Byron, started Cowboy Mounted Shooting
in 2009. They both joined Peach State that same year.
Betty and Byron also enjoy thoroughbred racing. They
make it up to New York for every Belmont Stakes!
Another passion of theirs is breeding Foundation Ranch
Horses. Betty is a Senior Ladies 2 Shooter. This is
her second year serving on the Peach State Board. This
2012 Season Betty will be in charge of Registration for
shoots and ordering Buckles for winners. Betty is a
native of South Carolina. However, she is now a true
Georgia Girl and calls Elberton Georgia home! |
Gary
Duck - Equipment Manager Gary
is a Men’s Level 4 competitor. He started
Cowboy Mounted Shooting and joined Peach
State in 2005. In 2008, Gary was elected to
the Peach State Board of Directors. This
season Gary is in charge of all arena
equipment and anything else we can think
of. Gary and his family call Braselton
Georgia home! |
Jack
Hewell - Announcer Manager
Jack has been enjoying horses for many
years! The majority of his experience is
competing with American Saddlebreds. Jack,
his wife Georgette, and their son Ben also
enjoy trail riding throughout North
Georgia. He has served on the American
Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia
Board of Directors. Jack, Georgette, and
Ben started Cowboy Mounted Shooting in
2007. The following year they joined Peach
State. This is Jack’s third year on board
for Peach State and he is in charge of
announcers during the shoots. The Hewell
family calls Lula Georgia home! |
Mark
Shurley – Computer Master Mark has been trail
riding since 2000 and is also an avid shooter and gun
collector. After seeing a demonstration of Cowboy
Mounted Shooting at a trail ride in
Missouri, he decided to
try it himself. He joined CMSA and Peach State and
started mounted shooting at the 2010 Peach State
Championship. He is the 2011 Men's Level 1 Class High
Points Winner and Rookie of the Year. This is his first
year serving on the BOD for Peach State. Mark is the
new Computer Master! Mark is the 7th generation to live
on the family farm in
Warrenton, Georgia. |
Robbie
Henderson – Stall Sheriff Robbie started
Cowboy Mounted Shooting in 2005. He has served many
years on the Peach State BOD. He was elected as the
President in 2009 and 2010. He is a Men’s Level 4
shooter and is a top 5 Cowboy for 2011. He will be in
charge of Stalls during shooter check in for the 2012
season. |
Robby
Payne - Robby has been riding
horses for over 35 years. During that time,
he showed gaited horses all across the
Southeast. Robby and his son, Jesup, tried
Cowboy Mounted Shooting for the first time
in 2010 and were both hooked! They both
joined Peach State in 2010. He is the 2010
Southeastern Regional Men’s Level 1 Champ,
Peach State Rookie of the Year, and 2010
Peach State Men’s Level 2 High Point
Cowboy. Robby calls Dawsonville, Georgia
home! |
Ronnie
Gipson - Ronnie started riding horses in 2003. The
first time he saw cowboy mounted shooting he was
hooked. He joined PSMSA in 2004. Ronnie served on the
Peach State Board as Treasurer in 2008 & 2009. Ronnie
is a men’s level 5 competitor. |
